Faith Suh MS, CCC-SLP

Faith (she/her) is excited to be Waypoint’s first speech-language pathologist! She was born and raised in Irvine, California but has called Washington home for the last three years.

Faith graduated magna cum laude at Point Loma Nazarene University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Child and Adolescent Development in 2014. She then received her baccalaureate education at California State University, Fullerton, during which she worked as a behavioral interventionist for autism-specific programs in Irvine Unified School District. She received her Master of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Chapman University in 2018. As her capstone project, Faith completed training to administer the Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile (MBSImPTM)  when assessing patients with dysphagia. In her career, Faith has had the privilege of serving in a variety of settings, including an elementary school, early intervention clinic, and now private practice. She has extensive experience working in pediatrics with needs related to the following: autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, stuttering, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, auditory processing disorder, tongue tie, articulation, pragmatics, augmentative and alternative communication, and developmental delay. She also has a passion for feeding and swallowing and is a certified provider for the McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Program. She is excited to expand this interest to pediatric feeding at Waypoint.

As a speech therapist, Faith also appreciates the intersectionality between mental health and (re)habilitative therapy. Empathic understanding and unconditional positive regard are key practices that she strives to maintain with her clients and families. She has also worked extensively in her previous positions at bringing accessibility, equity, and inclusion into the therapy environment. Faith bases her clinical work on the understanding that communication plays an essential role in forming relationships with others; feeling connected to loved ones and being heard are universal needs. Throughout her career, it has been an immense joy fulfilling these needs by supporting diverse forms of communication, whether they be gestures, words, an augmentative and alternative device, or pictures. Faith enjoys sharing the same joy with her new team and families at Waypoint!

When not deep diving into the world of speech therapy, Faith enjoys reading books. She is an avid fan of board games and likes to host game nights with her spouse and friends. Faith is also a major foodie and is always open to trying new restaurants or recipes.
