Frequently Asked Questions

  • At your first appointment, you will meet with one of our skilled pediatric therapists to review your concerns, assess your child’s skills, review medical history, and collaborate to create your child’s plan of care. After the evaluation, our scheduling team will work with you to schedule appointments based on the therapists recommendation.

  • Prior to your first appointment with us, please complete the intake paperwork which will be sent to you electronically. We ask that intake paperwork is completed 24 hours in advance of your appointment to allow our staff has adequate time to review your child’s medical history prior to the appointment. Copies are also available at the clinic if you prefer to complete intake paperwork in person. Please ensure your child is dressed in comfortable clothing that allows them to move freely with supportive, non-slip shoes. If your child uses adaptive equipment or wears an orthotic device, please bring these items (or information about these items) to the initial evaluation.

  • No, Washington is a direct access state. This means that anyone can access physical therapy services without a prescription. There are some instances where your insurance company may require a referral prior to initiating services. If you are unsure whether your insurance requires a referral, please contact your insurance Member Services number by calling the phone number located on the back of your insurance card.

  • When you call to make an appointment, our scheduling team will help pair you with the right therapist(s) to ensure you’ll be seeing a provider who is appropriate for your child’s age and concern(s).

  • The length of the session varies depending upon the therapy provided. Appointments can range from 30-60 minutes.

  • Your therapist will make a recommendation for the duration and frequency of therapy following your initial evaluation. We have many different scheduling models available to our families and work with families to meet both their child’s treatment needs, and the family’s schedule needs.   • Yes! To learn more, please ask your physical therapist at your initial appointment to see if intensives are the right fit for your child.

  • Currently Waypoint does not offer home visits but we do offer telehealth or virtual visits.

  • Waypoint is contracted with most major insurance companies. Please contact our office and we are happy to let you know if we are in network. We find lists provided by insurance companies are not always accurate so if you do not see our name on the list, just call us and we are happy to let you know.

  • Exact amount billed per visit is dependent upon the treatment provided. We are always happy to provide you with a statement of charges for each session. To find more details regarding insurance coverage and patient responsibility, please contact your insurance’s Member Services number by calling the phone number located on the back of your insurance card. We are happy to help guide you on accessing your benefit information.

  • Statements can be paid via phone, through a secure link we can text you, or in-person at your appointment time.

  • Yes! Conveniently located in downtown Redmond and right off I-90 in Issaquah, all therapists work out of both locations depending on the day of the week. This also means that you can visit either clinic in the event you need to reschedule. If you prefer to only be scheduled at one clinic, just mention it to our scheduling team and they would be happy to make a note.

  • We require that any cancellations be made 24 hours in advance of the appointment time. This ensures we have adequate time to adjust schedules and contact families on our waitlist. More details regarding our attendance policy can be found in our attendance policy above.
